Research focus

The functionality of a living cell requires the coordination of cellular organelles, which form biochemical networks. Within this network mitochondria fulfill essential roles that are indispensable for cell survival. Especially the production of ATP by the OXPHOS machinery needs to be adjusted to cellular demands. In the focus of our research is the mitochondrial OXPHOS machinery and the question as to how functional alterations of the system in such reorganization events are communicated and regulated in the cellular context.
